February 2013 marks our first time visiting Magic Market Week, in Las Vegas. Not getting into too many details of why, or what we were doing there… lets just say we had a marvelous time, met many new people, were introduced to some amazing new and old fashion brands/collections, + overall left Vegas feeling truly inspired. Here are a few pictures of our time in Vegas- both business and pleasure! Spring break has officially started for my class… so we […]
We decided to keep Valentine’s Day low key. We made dinner together, drank wine, and devoured a local shops top dessert selection. This was the perfect evening-in. Below is the recipe we used + some pictures documenting 2013 Valentine’s Day for the Lofthouse’s. Ricotta-Stuffed Pasta Boats Ingredients: 1 pkg (250 g) Jumbo Pasta Shells 1Tbsp Olive Oil 1 Container (475) Ricotta Cheese 1 Pckg (300 g) frozen spinach thawed 1 Cup grated parmesan cheese 1 Egg 1 Jar (270 mL) […]

The band will be joined by Vampire Weekend, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes, fun., Alabama Shakes, Old Crow Medicine Show and The Vaccines, among other artists… Jesse and I are lucky to have friends who got us tickets early this morning! Can’t wait for this FABULOUS line up of our favourite artists! See you there!!! Wish you were coming, Dad!
Living life to the extreme. Whether it is desert heat, or a snow-day in London! This morning we woke up to a winter wonderland outside. We’re enjoying a family day at home, no work or school for us!
Short and sweet were the two words to describe my trip to Tucson, AZ. I had the pleasure of accompanying a friend at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. This was my first out of town buying-trip experience. My brain was a sponge, taking in every ounce of information. I absolutely loved every minute of the trip, whether it was buying, or creating some fabulous memories with my darling friend. This was the perfect trip, in preparation for MAGIC, in […]
I am in my last semester of Fashion Merchandising, and one of our classes is Photo Styling. Below are some photographs I took for our first (simple) assignment of stacking. I chose to advertise for Pottery Barn; however, I tweaked these pictures to suit J. Lofthouse. Enjoy!
Merchandising and online creations at Leslie’s is a blast. Today I styled up a few posts for the blog features… usually inspired from outfits I wear myself. Check out the Leslie’s blog here.
We dump all of our photographs on tumblr. One of those places where you don’t feel like you’re annoying your friends with insignificant pictures; however, a place they won’t go completely to waste. I (Jen) just started attending a photostyling class… and it’s getting me excited to start snappin’ pics. I have two fashion-related trips (arizona+lasvegas) coming up soon… I’m needing to polish up my skills.
Trend Forecasting isn’t just a hobby, but an integral skill required to be successful in the fashion business. Using WGSN as a research tool… we have scouted out a few looks that might be gracing your wardrobes sooner, than later.
One of the many things I do here in London is assist Sue Jacobs, a Personal Style Consultant. I help Sue with her brand image for all her marketing materials. Needless to say, we have connected, and I’ve happily been able to help her create Newsletters, posters, handouts etc. to her liking, that fit (and are consistent) with her brand image. Sue is not just a fabulous wardrobe consultant, but a lovely lady who is a delight to work with. […]
Happy New Year to all of our friends, family, and readers! 2012 has been a year of new experiences, and new relationships. We feel tremendously blessed to have met, and spent time with such wonderful people. We look forward to many more years with you! Wishing you, and yours a Fashionable 2013!
What a busy year it has been for both of us. In order to introduce our pup Nanc to the wonderful world of Winnipeg, we decided to make our holiday visit… a road trip! Working up until the last minute, we didn’t have time to check the weather network before venturing off to Chicago, Wisconsin… need we say more? The storm of the Century took us by surprise… but we made it through… and we were not just happy, but […]

This holiday season J. Lofthouse was hired to decorate the common area of a downtown corporate building. Within the budget we transformed gold and red past year decorations to white and silver! Simple, yet elegant! Here are a few pictures of the results: If you’re ever in need of a little corporate, or home decorating, give us a shout! We’d love to help!

A particular trend that is becoming popular amongst bloggers is posting past instagram photos. I know that I get a little carried away with Instagram, and fully expect my friends to make fun of how often I post; however, it’s a lovely way of staying connected to those back home. We both enjoy filing our families in on the little endeavors we take on daily… not to mention the OOTD… gotta have the OOTD! (That is “Outfit of the Day”, […]
