Networking is a wonderful thing, much thanks to the Fanshawe staff that featured me on the Fashion Merchandising page via Facebook! Be sure to “like” to keep up to date with this wonderful program!
Jen didn’t take any time to relax after finishing first year and instead got right down to work with some new summer projects. In addition to her blog (J. Lofthouse) that she started two years ago when she lived in Winnipeg, she works at Leslie’s, a small chain of clothing boutiques. She has taken on much more responsibility at Leslies this summer acting as the lead merchandiser at all three locations, heading all their online social media, and playing a huge role in both sales and management. On top of this already busy schedule Jen is helping to start up a new online Canadian fashion magazine, where she will be a columnist and street photographer once it is launched!
“My summer co-op is exactly where I want to be. I am extremely grateful for and excited about my position at Leslie’s Clothing, a small chain of women’s boutiques. The best part of my job is the creative freedom it allows for me to express myself through fashion. Window displays, store merchandising, social media, and wardrobe consulting are just the tip of the iceberg this year for me at Leslie’s. When I’m not working at the shop, I find myself keeping busy with my website that offers a creative outlet for fashion, home decorating, DIY projects, music, and food. My significant other and I, have traveled to London from Winnipeg and this year we have truly enjoyed experiencing London’s culture through local restaurants, pubs, music, and of course, fashion. I am so excited to start my last year of Fashion Merchandising in anticipation of discovering what the future has in store for me!”
