Africa has a special place in my heart, a couple years ago I had the pleasure of visiting this fascinating continent. Today, I am taking a course in college called “History of Genocide” which looks back on past genocide tragedies, but also examines world events, and possible genocides in the making. This KONY 2012 video not only tugged on my heart but inspired me; This past semester I’ve felt overwhelmed… I’ve felt very alone in regards to all of this “new” (to me) African horror-story knowledge of what’s really going on in our world today. This video has reminded me that there ARE good people out there- and that YES- we CAN make a difference! I urge you to watch this, when you have 27 minutes to spare (maybe instead of pinterest?). Inspire yourself… have a little cry- but that’s the least you can spare for the suffering “invisible children”. Get on BOARD with this movement- how amazing will it be when Kony is arrested- and we can set free so many people. I’ve ordered my bracelet- and will wear it proud- do the same! Fashion is fun stuff- but let’s get our priorities straight!
**Added Note**
It’s insane how well this video and link has caught on via FB, Twitter, Instagram etc. – and with popularity and “fads” comes it’s “haters”; however no one actually hates a good cause such as this- but only shows concern about other worldly events that have nothing to do with Joseph Kony. I say… who cares- the point is the world is uniting and doing something good RIGHT NOW… there are ALWAYS bigger and worse problems… but how amazing is it to see our generation come together- FAD or NOT. We together can accomplish so much- and by accomplishing (defeating) something such as “KONY 2012″, it will hopefully have a snowball affect- and keep the ball rolling with other causes! *Yes it’s annoying to see people care all of a sudden- but is that kind of cool at the same time?*
Well put! I’m gonna order UP! Great cause.
