Today I am enjoying my first, school-free day off. I have the doors of both balconies open (opposite sides of our apartment) a beautiful breeze is filling our place up with Spring air. Somehow, symbolically the fresh air is getting me excited to start a new chapter of my life. If you’ve read my previous post “Connect 2013“, you will know that last Monday was my year end showcase of my college Fashion Merchandising program. It was a huge success, […]
Well ladies and gentlemen, two years living in London has FLOWN by. I cannot express how wonderful this entire experience has been for Jesse and I. Our move to London came with it’s rocky start… navigating around a new city, not knowing anyone, both jobless. With a little effort, we found ourselves both employed, adopting a rescue dog (our darling blog-featured Nancy), and networking/befriending some amazing people. My two college years not only educated me about the business behind […]
I had the delight of helping out in a few areas of Ashley & Juans wedding last summer. By no means am I a videographer, but their wedding presented the perfect opportunity to try my (hopefully steady) hand at this art. It was such a fun afternoon and evening, and what a beautiful, happy, lovely couple to catch on tape. Enjoy!
Happy Easter Weekend! We cannot believe how quickly this year is flying by. We love spring for a number of reasons. When it comes to fashion, pastels are always such a beautiful switch up from the dreary winter layers. Below are a few spring-y photographs from a Parisian themed tea party we staged for a photo-shoot. Hope the Easter Bunny is treating you well. Jennifer & Jesse
The Fashion Merchandising program of Fanshawe College runs a store within the College called “Live Chic”, or as we call it “LC”. In a way, the store is used as a classroom environment, in which students are able to play out situations, techniques and strategies we learn in class, within an actual retail store. Students able to participate within all aspects, such as: merchandising, selling, managing, and buying. My passion for entrepreneurship was put to use, when partner Meg Dobbie […]

The stars aligned for Mr. + Mrs. Lofthouse. It is a rare happening; however, we both shared the same “day-off” together from work. Some might wonder what we do in our spare time together– two of our favourite things of course! Shopping and blogging. In early February 2013, at the corner of Oxford and Hyde Park Road, The Spectacle Company opened its doors to the city of London. We happen to love supporting local businesses with promotional blogging, so when […]
Today marks the 8th year anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day, this is a global awareness day for some of the sweetest people we know, and love. Click here for more information about how you can join the cause to create a single global voice advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well being of people with Down Syndrome. To show your support (today), wear your most funky, fun, wildly coloured socks! We look forward to next year when we can […]
Another project within the Fashion Merchandising program was “specialty modeling”. We found a special little girl named Nancy-Pants who was happy to work for cheese (no pun intended). She rocked these three shots, as did our male model Jesse! We drew inspiration from the Warby Parker April Fools campaign “Warby Barker”, google it… it’s a hoot! Special thanks to Monique Wiendels who photographed and edited the pictures, as well as stylist and basset hound lover Meagan Dobbie.

I am finishing up my last two months of Fashion Merchandising, and one of my favourite classes happens to be photo styling. I love the creative freedom we have for all of our projects. Classmate Meagan Dobbie and I styled this shoot, both the clothing, and scenic choices. Meg and I had the pleasure of working with photographer Monique Wiendels. To switch things up a bit from what we’re comfortable with, we decided to feature a young fashionable male, unfortunately […]

A sneak peek behind the scenes of the Tiny Devotions lifestyle shoot! It was a fun filled boho evening featuring a lot of Mala beads! Can’t wait to see the photographers actual pictures!
After visiting Arizona, then Las Vegas for two massive buying shows… it was no joke that Emerald Green is 2013′s Pantone colour of the year! Spring fashion is definitely taking a pastel approach with mint green trending in stores, which we would call a pastel version of Emerald. We’re loving this playful colour, cannot wait to incorporate it into our wardrobes and lifestyle. New decorative cushions anyone?
February 2013 marks our first time visiting Magic Market Week, in Las Vegas. Not getting into too many details of why, or what we were doing there… lets just say we had a marvelous time, met many new people, were introduced to some amazing new and old fashion brands/collections, + overall left Vegas feeling truly inspired. Here are a few pictures of our time in Vegas- both business and pleasure! Spring break has officially started for my class… so we […]
We decided to keep Valentine’s Day low key. We made dinner together, drank wine, and devoured a local shops top dessert selection. This was the perfect evening-in.
